In January and February, our Agrilinks collaboration emphasized the relationship of pedagogy and curriculum in the agriculture education and training system (AET). • The Difference Between Agricultural Education and Extension, and Why It Matters: Dr. Roberts, explains that, “extension is part of a nation’s AET system. To make sustainable improvements to the agricultural value chain, we must address the whole system.” Learn the differences between education and training in agriculture and how they fit into the holistic AET system.

• Connecting Theoretical and Practical Instruction: A Critical Agricultural Education and Training Linkage: It is a common struggle for AET institutions to provide relevant instruction on the different levels that learning occurs. These struggles are increased with the many barriers to quality, including deficiencies in management, maintenance, and to name a few. Check out some exemplary methods for overcoming existing barriers “with solutions funded by target donor support and a little innovate thinking.”
• EARTH University: A Model for Agricultural Education and Training Linkages: “Successful agricultural education and training (AET) institutions approach their missions from a systems perspective by building a variety of linkages.” EARTH University, of Costa Rica, is a cardinal example of success for its tried-and-true method for developing sustainable solutions to practical problems.
